2 Ways To Network For New Work – Get Linked In

Make your own luck and find your Pot of Gold this month! Networking can be quite nerve-racking or a waste of time without a solid follow-up strategy in place. Use the right tactics to support your goals and you can turn your network into your new work! If you are in a party plan or direct selling, home-based business networking is just a fantastic way to find new leads and get referrals. Read on to learn two strategies and some simple tactics that can definitely help you get luckier this month.  

1. Get Linked In - How you manage your Linked In network is highly personal. Some people accept all invites. Other people are selective. For me...If someone contacts me that I have lost touch with, or don't know very well, I typically ask them to call me so we can get acquainted before accepting the invite. I want to make sure we share similar criteria:


  • Respond - Will we respond to each other? Will we return each other's calls, answer emails? Can we count on offering each other mutual support? 

  • Respect - Will we respect each other's network and ensure that our efforts are well received?

  • Reciprocity - Will we refer each other if the opportunity presents itself?


2. Be Disciplined - To foster connections, build relationships and to give and receive value it takes discipline. Several 'S' words come to mind.


  • Steelers - I am from Pittsburgh, Pa., home of the 6-time Super Bowl Champions. (Please don't hold that against me if your heart is with another team.) They instilled in me both the will to win and discipline to do the hard work which precedes "getting lucky"! In a sports analogy, this is a 'lunch-pail' mentality--putting forth daily effort realizing there are no shortcuts to success!

  • Systems - Set up the process and system so you can manage new leads.

  • Sex - I just threw this in to see if you are reading and because it is another form of how to 'Get Lucky and Get Linked In'! Oops...Not what this article is about...
