When spring has sprung you know you're in for a treat! Warm days and fun in your backyard await you. Preparing for spring is important if you want to get the most out of it. Before you do anything else in your backyard you have to make sure that you do some spring cleaning. Just like you do inside of your home, cleaning up your backyard will make everything look fresh and new. Getting rid of dead plants with no hope of revival and clearing backyard debris is essential. In addition to doing some standard cleaning up you should also think long and hard about your gardening and backyard plans for this spring. Are you tired of doing the same old thing? Since spring is a time for renewal you might consider starting some new backyard projects, adding some fun new elements, or getting rid of things in your yard that just plain bug you. One of the best ways to get ready for spring is to prepare your garden. Whether you have had a garden for years or are just starting out with one it's best to have everything in order for the growing months. Just like you did a general sweep through of your yard you should do the same for your garden. If you're new to gardening you should identify an ideal area with room for the great plants you're going to care for. That means clearing away things like weeds and overgrowth. It's also important that you till the soil. When you do this you'll be preparing the soil for the plants you'll be growing. You can't plant in hard, rigid conditions or your garden will not be very successful. Check the soil to make sure it's fertile enough to be successful. Once the soil is ready you can start getting your plants ready. Consider the plants that grow best in the springtime or gather your thoughts for the summer plants. When it comes to planning your garden in the spring you can never be too prepared. Your garden shouldn't be your only focus. Since it is getting warmer outside you'll want to make sure you have plenty of room to entertain and relax in your backyard. Perhaps a new picnic table and chairs would be something your friends and family would enjoy. Or maybe an outdoor rocking chair so you can relax among the birds.
