Book Review: All She Every Wanted by Lynn Austin

By: Denise Willms

Have you ever wondered just why you are... well, the way you are?

Which forgotten pieces of history are repeating themselves in your life, right now?

Kathleen Seymour doesn't. She left her home thirty-five years ago, and has no intention of looking back. That is, not until she sees her painful past repeating itself in her own family and she returns to her childhood home to rescue her relationship with her daughter.

All She Ever Wanted is an inspiring Christian novel from three-time Christy award winner, Lynn Austin, and is published by Bethany House Publishers. It's a story of family secrets and reconciliations in three generations of women.

As a mother, daughter, and a granddaughter, I found this story irresistible. A few years ago I researched and wrote a short biography of my own grandmother. While I learned about my grandmother's past, I came to better understand my present. No longer was I out here on my own, but I was a part of something bigger. It helped me understand why I am the way I am, and my own relationships with the women in my family.

Kathleen discovers the same, and she must decide if, now that she knows the truth, she is ready to forgive.
