Is your business growing and evolving? I've consulted with entrepreneurs who are considering changes (big or small) in the direction of their businesses and I've been there myself. It can feel a little intimidating to change directions. Here's what I've learned. 1. Business naturally evolve as their owners evolve. As you gain knowledge and grow personally, it's natural for your business to evolve to reflect the changes in you. 2. Passion and focus change. For many entrepreneurs, their ventures aren't just a way to support themselves financially, but a way to express themselves and fulfill their purpose. If they are no longer passionate about what they do or offer to the world, that lack of passion shows. We must allow our businesses to shift focus as our hearts shift focus (always with much thought). Don't just flitter from business to business if you want to build lasting success--allowing your business to evolve is different from abandoning your business and starting a new one completely. 3. Each evolution builds on prior evolutions. As a business changes, even if the changes are drastic, you're a little bit father ahead each time as you apply the lessons previously learned to the new challenges you face. 4. There's nothing wrong with letting go and allowing yourself to enjoy the ride as your business evolves.
