Cheap Wedding Ideas: 3 Options For Budget Conscious Brides

By: Darlyn Burkle

Weddings can be extremely expensive, but they don't have to be. You can plan a wedding using cheap wedding ideas. It all depends on what you want and what you are willing to do without. Starting out with a budget will help you know what you have to work with. When you are planning a wedding, be creative in what you use and what you plan. There are many cheap wedding ideas that can be found online.

Cheap wedding ideas are something most people don't discuss with a couple that is planning a wedding. Most people think that a couple will spend as much as they can ( or more) for their special day, but that is not always the case. Some just don't have the money to spend or they don't want to spend a lot or go into debt.

This article will give you some cheap wedding ideas to consider or you can use them to come up with your own ideas.

• Use A Judge

One of the cheapest weddings you can have is to get married in front of a judge at the local court house. The court house will charge you a small fee to use the judge to perform the ceremony, but that could be the only fee involved. You could wear clothes that you already have and you could either skip the post wedding party altogether or you could have it at your home.

• Church

If you are planning a church wedding, find out if your pastor can waive charges to use the church. You can also ask if he can waive the charges for his services or if he can charge you a small nominal fee. You don't have to decorate the church or you can choose to add just a few flowers.

• Las Vegas

If you live close to Las Vegas or plan to honeymoon there, you can have a cheap wedding in one of the chapels. This may not be a cheap plan if you plan to have a lot of people attend or if you live clear across the US from Vegas.

One of the most expensive parts of a wedding is the brides dress. The perfect dress can cost as much as $2000 or more. If you don't have that kind of money, you have a couple options. You can wear a dress from your Mom or Grandmother, you could buy a dress at a garage sale, or you could purchase a dress from a used clothing store. Check the newspaper for an ad as well. And don't forget the sales at the bridal shops. They get new stock in from time to time and put the dresses on sale at a great savings.

Something else that can be pretty pricey for the couple is the wedding party dresses and tuxedos. It wouldn't be rude at all to ask for each of them to pay for all or half of the cost their dress or tux. If you tell them far enough in advance, they will have the time to save for it.

Weddings don't have to cost an arm and a leg. There are many cheap wedding ideas that you can use and still have a wonderful wedding and one that you will remember forever. Be creative when you are looking for cheap wedding ideas. Ask family members and friends for their ideas to help you out. If people know you are looking for cheap wedding ideas they won't have a problem helping you out.
