I hope you are building learning and fun traditions during this Christmas season with your children. Our family likes to attend the Christmas Eve service at our church. During the holidays we all pile into our van and do a Christmas light tour around the city. There are many Christmas traditions you can build with your kids. You could set up a nativity scene with unbreakable figures. When our children walked by it they would stop and rearrange the figures and ask questions about the first Christmas. Here are some other traditions worth including in your Christmas celebrations: *Help serve supper at a shelter or mission *Help deliver meals at Christmas for Meals on Wheels *Donate pillows, quilts or Christmas stockings at Ronald McDonald House *Shop for a child at a shelter or some needy family *Donate used items your family has outgrown to a shelter *Organize a toy drive for a transition house *Sing Christmas carols at a senior's home *Prepare craft kits and donate to the children's ward at your local hospital *Make and fill stockings with toiletries, gum, chips, or music CDs and donate to a shelter for street kids *Bake Christmas treats for a needy family *Make table centers for a mission that serves Christmas dinner Choose something that is meaningful to you as a family and make an effort to do it together every year.
