Do it Yourself Article Marketing Tips

By: Corrie Petersen

Running your own business is a wonderful feeling and a great thing for anyone. There are many types of businesses a person can run. It really depends on your knowledge or interest.

Not matter what business you run, you need to find ways to promote it. Whether you have been in business for a few days or a few years, promoting your business can be a challenge. In this article, I will share with you how great article writing can be for your business.

Writing an article can be easy for some and hard for others. First thing you need to do is come up with a topic. If you can’t come up with a topic or later on you run dry on topics, visit article directories for ideas. You can go to sites like EzineArticles or LadyPens for article ideas.

When you write articles they need to be well written and full of content. You can’t put any links in the body of the article because it will be rejected if you do. You will want your article to be at least 300 words and no more than 1000 words.

At the bottom of your article you will want a bio. You bio is written in the third person and should contain one link. When you write your bio it needs to tell a little about yourself or what you are promoting. You can see my bio at the end of this article.

Now that you have your article written, you need to submit that article to the directories for others to read and use as content. Let me share with you my three favorite article directories and why I like them.

1. EzineArticles.com

EzineArticles is a great site to submit your articles to. You sign up for a free account and start submitting right away. Alexa.com says EzineArticles has millions of visitors each month. This means your article could be seen by thousands and thousands of people. The other great thing about EzineArticles is they have over 25 different categories to choose from. So no matter what your subject is, you are bound to find a category it will fit in.

2. LiveArticleDirectory.com

LiveArticleDirectory is a great directory to submit to as well. LiveArticleDirectory has over 20 different categories with sub-categories under each category. They have over 1200 authors so you know they get a lot of traffic. You can create a free account and get going within a few minutes.

3. LadyPens.com

LadyPens is an awesome site and only women authors can submit articles. LadyPens has over 90,000 views per month. So your article will be seen by thousands of people each month. Ladypens has over 15 categories that have sub-categories. It’s nice to know that you can go to one place to gather well written articles written by women.

Now you have a general idea of how to write an article, how to come up with article topics when you are in a lull, and three directories you should submit your articles to. Writing articles is important for any business. When you write articles it will increase your traffic when you submit them to the article directories.
