Don’t Limit Yourself

By: Colleen Davis

Custom business cards have a lot of potential in them. They can be far more than the simplistic cards I often get handed. Too often a person typecasts a business card as a card with contact information and nothing else.

Who cares if the card is actually interesting? Who cares if people light up when they first see it? It doesn’t matter if it just blends in with the pack, quick to be forgotten, nothing of interest to see.

This should not be the way to think about business card printing. Business cards are capable of being just as creative and elaborate as the best brochures you’ve ever seen, you just need to know all your options in order to spice things up.

Don’t go for just paper when you can have plastic, wood, or metal. When was the last time someone handed you a metal business card? That’s something to remember, and something to show around to your friends. These are the cards that get people interested enough that they simply want to keep looking at it, and every time they stare at your card, your company name is being engrained in their memory.

How many pictures do you see on business cards? Have you seen vibrant images with coloring and designs that immediately jump out at you? These are the cards you don’t just shove in your pocket but lift up to study more.

Why not take advantage of both sides of your business card? I can’t even count the number of times I’ve been handed a one sided card.

Put a quote of wisdom on the back of your card, something interesting, something helpful, or something just plain funny. No matter what you’ll get people taking additional time to read what you put, and if it’s interesting enough, you can bet they’ll mention it to others.

Get a card that opens up to tell people even more on the inside. Explain what you do, how you can help people, how much money people waste a year because they don’t use services like yours. Any additional space is another opportunity to get yourself remembered.

And if you think the things I’m mentioning here are all you have open to you than you haven’t the slightest idea what true business card printing is today. Take a look for yourself to see all the possibilities just waiting to happen.

Sure, the business card is meant to serve as a tool to get your contact information into a person’s hands, but isn’t it also supposed to get you remembered? What good is contact information if a person doesn’t remember they have it?

You need to make sure that when someone looks at your card, they won’t be able to forget it. Until you can boast that, your card isn’t as good as it can be.
