If your resolutions are set and not yet met...there is still ENOUGH time to gain more momentum and make this year, YOUR year. Many times in my direct selling career, I have set goals for my home-based business then stumbled. It is all part of the learning process. By stumbling enough times (or even falling flat!), I have learned how to trust myself enough to know that I will work my way back up. Here are three truths I learned (my version of Oprah's, "What I know for sure...") that have helped me to stay on track, get back on track or to start over when need be. 1. Follow Your Heart Revisit what is fueling your passion. Ask yourself, "Is my love showing?", "Is my heart in what I am doing?", "Do I love what I do well enough to work through obstacles?" When your desire to succeed is strong, you will have the inner fortitude to keep going. If you are feeling frustration, it is quite difficult to display passion - and it is your passion that draws others to you. To release your frustrations I suggest that you: *Step away from your business for a moment. Take a deep breath and regroup. *Remember WHY you are working in business and WHAT you are working for. *Forget about yourself and focus on helping others. 2. Freshen Up! With all the current woeful economic news, I have made a concerted effort to stay fresh. I've also made a deliberate decision to not let the dire news drain me of my energy or spirit. I have accepted the fact that I need to make more calls and talk to more more people to get the same results I desire. I am dedicated to keeping myself fresh and sharp. I have developed an immunity plan to protect my heart and passion, preserve my energy and deal effectively with the harsh realities around us. What will refresh you? Below are a few tactics that help me to stay refreshed: *Meet new people. I have attended three networking events this month and have met several interesting entrepreneurs. Attend with no particular agenda except to form a few new relationships and trust the universe to lead you to the right people. *Attend a training class. Take a seminar, teleconference call training and/or read an inspiring book to keep your mind in the optimal place. I have attended a teleconference call or live event once a week this month to help me stay fresh. *Take time off - schedule a time to play. Go to the movies, see friends or do something for fun. 3. Start or Re-start Get started now or start again! Determine what consistent actions you need to do each week so that at the end of the week you can feel your situation is improving. Improvement and self-growth are great gifts to give yourself. These are simple ways you can show yourself that you love what you do and are willing to invest in yourself. Follow these three truths and you will give yourself a fresh start whenever you need it.
