Encouraging words are extremely powerful. When you encourage somebody, you are giving them a gift of courage. It compels them to move forward, to achieve more in life than just the bare minimum. Knowing that somebody wants you to succeed, and tells you so, can give you the courage and the confidence to truly do so. Let Go of Negative Thoughts Maybe you've been too hard on yourself lately, or too hard on your children or your loved ones. Why is that? Is it because you've been letting negative thoughts control your life? Well, you don't need to anymore! Let go of those negative thoughts. You're in control of your thoughts, beliefs, and actions. Why rely on a negative set of beliefs? If you want to succeed, you truly can. You just need to encourage yourself! Good Marks Exercise Take a day out of your week to try out an exercise. For just that day, make a mark on your hand every time you do something right. By the end of the day, you'll undoubtedly have a hand covered in marks. You'll probably even run out of room! You go through the day doing things well, without taking notice of them. Each mark is something good, something positive. You should give yourself a hug or a pat on the back for each right thing you do. That's a lot of hugs a day, and a lot of encouragement. Mistake or Learning Experience If you do something wrong, take a moment to remind yourself that it's a mistake; everybody makes mistakes. Then think of all the things you did right that day. Will you make mistakes? Yes. Will they effect your life in the long run, or prevent you from doing other things perfectly well? Not at all! Remember this when you feel discouraged. It’s all about the frame of mind. Give the Gift of Courage to Yourself So give the gift of courage to not only your loved ones and friends, but yourself as well. You deserve to be courageous in everything you do. Encouragement goes a long way, and makes you able to do things you never thought you could.
