When our daughter was younger, we tried to get creative with some of the plain breakfast cereals that we used to purchase at our local grocery store. Our daughter would enjoy bowls of cereal for breakfast before school or as an after school snack. Some of these suggestions are on the healthy side and some should only be used as an occasional treat. If your child enjoys snacking on a bowl of dry cereal, you can certainly omit the milk. If you are putting together a take-along treat, only use dry ingredients placed in a zipper closure bag. Fun Milk Tip: Instead of using white milk, you can use chocolate. If you are health conscience, you can try using soy milk. For the majority of breakfasts, choose the healthy options...but there is certainly nothing wrong with allowing a few of the other goodies from time to time too.
