How to be your own boss…If your heart isn't in it, QUIT!

Every single day people decide to be their own boss and join a home based business, and every day thousands of people fail in home based businesses. Being your own boss has terrific advantages. In this article I want to get inside your head a little and find out if you becoming your own boss is really a good idea for you.

If you are one of the many thousands interested in being your own boss, you need to understand that it's a total lifestyle shift. Being your own boss can be the most rewarding change in your life. Being your own boss can also be the most daunting of tasks. When you become your own boss you will literally have to change the way you think about yourself and your role as both your own boss and your own employee.

Of the thousands that fail in the home based business industry very few will ever admit that the reason for their failure was because they could not handle being their own boss (but that's really what it breaks down to). And of course what those people won't admit to themselves is that those of us that do succeed are just better employees of the home based business. There are lots of people making good money and loving life because of their business. So what's the deal? Why do so many people fail in MLM while others succeed?

Just like many other things in life, being your own boss will require a special skill set that we're not born with so we must learn and practice. If you want success working from home you're going to have to put in some good solid effort. There isn't a business out there that will allow you to become your own boss and build any kind of substantial income from home without hard work. No matter how great the product is or how "simple" the system is it will never happen for you if you're not willing to work hard and with consistency.

If your heart isn't in your business you might as well get out now. Seriously, it's like to famous saying: "whether you think you can or think you can't, your right". If you don't think you can be a good boss to yourself then this industry is not right for you.

If your heart is truly in the game then you can win at being your own boss. A home based business will ever even come close to succeeding unless you "sell-out" to the notion that you have now become your own boss and by default also your own employee.. Signing up and paying the monthly fee, even buying a ton of product will never allow you to win big in MLM if you're not truly dedicated, passionate and excited about what you're doing.

Dreaming about being your own boss and joining a company half heartedly doesn't just hurt you either. It also doesn't help matters for the other people in the business. It just creates more stories of people who have joined the company and failed even though what nobody wants to say is that the failure really has nothing to do with the company but the individual themselves.

So when you get ready to be your own boss and possibly join a home based business ask yourself these questions:

Do I really have the time to devote to being my own boss?

Will I be a loyal employee to myself?

How long am I willing to stick it out before calling it quits? - Almost every business will take you between 1 - 4 years to see the big checks come in!

Do I know what "be your own boss" really entails?

If you still have a passion and a drive to be your own boss then by all means go do it! There is nothing like the freedom a home based business will create for you. Once you become your own boss you can live a lifestyle others can only dream about!!

However, if you're not sure you want to put in the hard work and effort it takes you might as well never get started.
