Last month my elder boy and I were drawn to the JimJam channel since it was aired on the preview channel. My boys went crazy when they spotted all their favourite programs- Thomas the Train engine and friends, Bob the Builder and Barney all at the same place. I too grew interested in the channel and watched along with the boys to find out more. It is very seldom to find so many good children' programs on a channel. Beside these three hot children shows, the channel also showed other classic cartoons like Angelina Ballerina, Fireman Sam, Oswald and Kipper among many others. I find that the cartoons are of higher quality as compared to shows like Teletubbies or Spongebob which is a real nonsensical and of no real educational value . The characters in the show speak good and well structured English which my boys can model upon. I feel that it is important to start young and give them a good and solid grounding in linguistics. At $5/month it is money well spent as purchasing individual VCDs for Barney alone can set you back between $12-$15 per VCD. Another draw back with VCDs is that they can get scratched and be spoiled after some time judging by the way my boys constantly mishandle them. Storage is also an issue in our compact apartment. My younger boy loves following along with the interactive games that are broadcast during the interval breaks between cartoons. Do check out this channel if you haven't done so. It is definitely worth the investment. Jim Jam - asia.jimjam.tv/
