By: Colleen Davis

Notepads are functional print materials that can be used everyday and by anyone. Kids can use these for use at home. They can also use these at school where they can put their to-do lists. Those who go to the office can use these to write notes. Home makers can use these to keep up with their schedule and activities. Notepads are indispensable for people who are busy and on-the-go. So, if you want to organize your schedule as well as your thoughts, bring a notepad anywhere and anytime. Always put a notepad on your bag or on your purse. Finding print notepads is easy. You can find these on book stores and school supplies shop. These are widely available. These can come in various sizes as well as prices. You may be surprised to find out that some notepads can be quite costly. There are some notepads that are of high-quality; some have hundreds of pages of quality paper stock. There are also some that have great designs in full color. You can also find print notepads that have interesting front and back covers. You will find that they may use quality cardboard that have ornaments or designs on the cover.

If you are planning to use print notepads for everyday use, you may opt to create your own. At home, you can use available materials for your print notepads. Gather your paper stock and load up your ink. Get ready to make your own print notepads. Here are the guidelines in making one:

- Prepare the materials needed in making print notepads: paper stock, inkjet printer, adhesive, clamp, and cardboard for the front and back covers. You can make use of paper stock available at home. Otherwise, you can go to your neighborhood supplies shop to purchase a stock.

- You need to decide how thick your notepads would be and estimate how many paper you will need. An A4 paper can make four pages. You can make bigger pages though. Decide on the print measurements.

- Open your computer and create a new blank document. Divide your document according to your print measurements and as to how many pages the document can have.

- You can make use of computer programs, such as Adobe Photoshop, Corel Draw, or Illustrator to make interesting design templates. On the other hand, if you are a design amateur, you can make use of Microsoft Publisher or even Word.

- You can make custom made designs on your pages. For example, you can stick to a specific theme. Base your design theme on the event or party. You may also want to make use of brushes, patterns and other design elements.

- Once you have finished making the design template, copy and paste in on the rest of the document.

- Print the document as a test first. Make sure that your desired expectations match what you see on print. Revise your design template if you see any errors or flaws. You may have to take a look at bleeds, indentations, and formatting, among others.

- Run your prints, and then cut the pages accordingly. File the pages and hold it through the use of a clamp.

- Cut the front and back covers of your print notepads, basing on the sizes of your pages. You may use cardboard or any heavy weight paper stock.

- Put the pages as well as the covers together. Apply adhesive on one side, and leave your print notepads to dry.
