By: Darlyn Burkle

If you are looking for ideas and tips on how to print your own wedding invitations then you have come to the right place. Wedding invitations can cost a large amount of money, so deciding to print your own wedding invitations is one easy way to stretch your wedding dollars.

When you print your own wedding invitations you are sure to get what you want without the anxiety about the quality and the time with the printer. The cost will be less even though you will have to purchase toner, special paper, and envelopes.

There are a number of helpful ideas and tips that you can use when you print your own wedding invitations. This article will show you just a few of those ideas.

• Paper

The first thing to do when you want to print your own wedding invitations it to go to a stationery store or business store to find the perfect paper for your invitations. You will want to find the perfect paper that matches your colors or theme. It should be card stock or a thickness that is thicker than regular paper. You will also want to find paper that will work for your reception cards and the RSVP cards.

• Half Sheet

Before you actually print your own wedding invitations you will need to come up with the wording and everything you want to say. When you have the wording just right, you can print it on a ˝ sheet of paper. Then add a bow to the top that matches your colors. You can also add gems to the sides of your invitations.

• Quarter sheet

If you go with the quarter sheet you will be able to have four invitations on one sheet. If you go with this suggestion when you print your own wedding invitations you might not be able to use stationery. You can add a design that covers the entire area or maybe a just a corner. You will need a paper cutter to cut them apart so they are all equal and the lines are straight. Another idea for cutting them out would be designed scissors. You can find these in the scrap book sections.

• Full sheets

Full sheets are perfect if you want to use stationery to print your own wedding invitations. You can also be very creative and use regular paper. Using regular paper will give you the opportunity to come up with borders and other designs to make your wedding invitation perfect.

Remember to include a reception card and an RSVP card when creating your invitations. You should use the same design or paper so everything matches. If you add gems or ribbons to your invitation, it may not be necessary to add those to your reception and RSVP cards, but it can be done.

If you think that you can’t print your own wedding invitations because of the envelopes, think again. Envelopes can be purchased at a stationery store or business supply store. There are many colors to choose from, so matching your colors shouldn’t be too hard to do. You can purchase stickers to seal them or you can use a sponge. If you use stationery, you can usually match your envelopes as well.

When you print your own wedding invitations they will have your personal touch and you can save some money as well. You can make them exactly the way you want and use the writing and special designs that you want. It really is pretty easy to do. All it takes is your time and creativity.
