Promoting your Business Through Holiday Parties

By: Corrie Petersen

The holidays are so much fun for kids and adults. Spending time with your friends and family is the best. There are parties to go to and gifts to go shopping for. It’s all about the holidays when this time of year comes around.

Did you know that you can reap the benefits for your business during the holiday season?

When the kids have Christmas parties at school, you can include your business. Here are some ways to do this that the kids will just love.

1. Goodie Bags

Purchase some kind of small holiday bag at the store. Get enough for each child in your child’s classroom. In the bag you can include pieces of candy and an age appropriate toy. Use a piece of ribbon to tie the bag closed and then put your business card or a coupon on the outside of it.

2. Booklet

Using card stock paper, you can create color sheets and crossword puzzles that are related to the holidays. On each page, you can create two to four color sheets or puzzles. At the bottom of each sheet include your website and a 4-5 word description of your business.

3. Games

When the Christmas parties come up, usually the teacher or room mother will ask for help, you can volunteer to do the games. Go online and do a Google search for holiday or Christmas games and color sheets. When you print one out, make sure there is enough room at the bottom that you can type in your website and 4-5 word description. More than likely, the children will either not have enough time to finish and they will take it home or the will take it home to show their mom and dad.

Now that we have the children’s parties taken care of you, you need to consider your own parties. Adults are invited to Christmas parties as well as families. Just because it’s an adult party doesn’t mean you can’t promote your business. Here are some ways to do this.

1. Mom packs

One way to promote your business is to create mom packs that contain samples and flyers from other businesses. You can put a label on the outside of the bag that says “This bag was created by” and then list your website. Make sure you don’t include any business that is directly related to what you do.

2. Treat bags

Another way to do this is to put together little treat bags with food items. For example you could include cookie, a candy cane, and a tea bag. Put your card on the outside of the bag or put a label on the outside and include your business card on the inside.

3. Gifts

If you exchange gifts at your work party, you could use an item from your business as the gift or part of the gift. Make sure you include your card so they know how to order more.

These are just a few of the many things you can do to promote your business during the holiday season. To get started, sit down and brain storm on things you can do that will work into your plans.
