Showing You’re Thankful to Your Customers or Clients

By: Corrie Petersen

Showing your customers you care is very important. It’s also a great way to get them to come back to you and purchase more services or products. Without these customers or clients, you wouldn’t be in business.

You’ve heard the saying, “do unto others as you would want others to do to you”. Think about that saying. How do you feel when someone sends you a thank you note or a birthday card? I would bet, you feel great and you feel important. I bet you wouldn’t give it a second thought about shopping with them again. Am I correct?

There are many ways you can show your customers or clients you care and you are very grateful for all they have done. Here are just a few of the ways you can do this and feel great while you do it.

• Cards

You can do this one of two ways. You can use an online service that will send out the cards for you. You type out what you want to say, include the address and pay for the card and the postage and they take care of the rest.

You can also purchase your own cards, hand write a message, address the envelope and mail them yourself. Handwritten cards are great because people really know you care. I’ve had many compliments when I put hand written notes in with my order. It shows people you care and you are truly appreciative of their order.

• Phone calls

A personal phone call can mean so much to a person. A call to say thank you and I appreciate your order is all you need. This can be a bit pricey if you don’t have free long distance. To save money, you can use Skype. Skype is easy to use and the price is reasonable.

A phone call is a wonderful way to show people you are grateful for their purchases. It’s also a great way to get them back to your site to make more purchases.

• Email

Sending a personal email to each of customers or clients is another way to show you appreciate their purchases. If you have the time to go back and look at what they ordered, you could be specific and that will mean even more to them. The more detailed or personable you are, the better they will feel.

• Gift baskets

Gift baskets are a wonderful thing to receive. People just love them. You can include your own products or gift certificates for your products or services or you can include candles, candy, cookies, etc. When you create these, make sure you think about the type of person your customer is or what type of business you run and use that theme when you make them. Also include a note or card so they know it came from you and include your web address.

People know you care about them when you show them you appreciate when they use your service or buy your products. Showing them you are appreciative means they will come back and purchase from you again and they will refer others to you. Think about how you would want to be treated and do the same for your customers or clients. Saying thank you is priceless!
