Steps to Getting Started with Article Marketing

By: Corrie Petersen

Article marketing is one of the best ways to grow your business and gain the trust of your market. You'll show others you're an expert in your field when you write articles on a regular basis. One of the most important parts of article marketing that is often times forgotten is the submission part of it.

Submitting your articles to the article directories is the only way people will see what you have to say. If you keep the articles you write to yourself nobody will see why they should use your products or services. They won't see that your an expert in your field and you are the only one they should use.

The best way to show your market these things is to submit your articles to the directories. Now that's not an easy thing to do if you're new to this marketing technique. The first thing to do is search for article directories that are geared toward your market. This can be a bit of a challenge, but it's a must so you make sure your articles are visible to the right readers.

Once you find the right directories it's time to start submitting your articles. The first thing you need to do is set up accounts or profiles at these directories. Most of the information is the same so it won't take long to get these set up. Some directories require approval while others are immediate. It's a good idea to make not of the link, username, and password on a spreadsheet so you can keep track of easily.

There are directories that give you ability to add your Twitter and Facebook information and once your article is approved it will automatically be posted to your account. For the ones that don't offer this option, you'll have to post them yourself. When your followers and friends see your articles are posted on these directories they read what you offer.

It's a good idea to keep your profile updated because readers have a tendency to visit those to see what you do and what other articles you've written. It's always a good idea to make sure your websites listed work properly so you'll want to click on them to make sure you typed the link in correctly. It's also a good idea to add a picture of you when you have the ability. Readers like to put a name and article to an author.

Article marketing is one of the best ways to promote your business. It's easy to do and free as well. It's something you can do for yourself or you can outsource it to a Virtual Assistant or Ghostwriter. No matter how you do it, article marketing will work if you do it the right way and you do it consistently.
