Summertime Slush Beverage Recipes

By: Shelly Hill

When it comes to cold refreshing beverages in the Summertime, the first thing that comes to mind for me is a slushie.

When making these recipes, the only piece of equipment you will need is a blender. You can make each of these drinks in only a matter of minutes.

Serving Suggestion: Serve the slushies in double-walled chilled glasses.

Sunshine

1/3 c. frozen orange juice concentrate
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1/3 c. powdered milk
2 Tbsp. honey
6 ice cubes

Mix all the ingredients together in a blender; adding the ice cubes one at a time. Serve immediately.

Berry Pineapple

1 (8 oz). can orange juice concentrate
1 (8 oz.) can crushed pineapple (in it's own juice, not syrup)
2 1/2 c. yogurt
1/4 c. honey
1 1/2 c. frozen mixed berry blend
6 ice cubes

In blender combine all ingredients and process until smooth, adjusting texture with more or less berries.

Hawaiian Crush

1 3/4 c. guava nectar
3/4 c. water
1 (12 ounce) can of frozen pineapple juice concentrate, thawed
1/4 tsp. coconut extract
1 (33 ounce) bottle of club soda, chilled

Combine the first 4 ingredients in a large pitcher, stirring well. Cover and chill, if desired. Just before serving, stir in the club soda. Serve over crushed ice.
