The Daily Home Schedule - Have You Made Yours?

By: O Quinn

Do you keep a daily schedule? Well if you don't know that a daily schedule will help you to find more time in your day. In planning each part of your day from wake to bed you will be in charge of how your time is spent.

Busy moms stand to benefit the most from making a daily schedule. It's amazing to discover the pockets of time you have when you finally get a glance at the print-out of your daily to do's. So how does one go about making a daily schedule?

* Get a sheet from your planner or daily calendar that has the time slots written into it. This will give you an idea of how your day is spaced out (and also give you a good viewpoint to see if you need to change anything).

* Write on this list all of the things you do starting with getting up in the morning to going to bed at night. Write in when you start dinner, take care of the kids, the home. Just all of the basic items you take care of each day.

* If you know the approximate time when you do these items write it in that time slot. For example a lot of stay at home women start the dinner preparations around 5pm.

* If you have items that you don't have a specific time slot for look at your schedule and find a good time to fit them into. For example laundry. If you don't already have a time when you do laundry see if you can't fit that in.

* Make sure you fit in time for yourself. Breaks in the day when you can catch your breath and rest or do the things you would like to do.

* Don't try and completely fill up your day. That's not the goal. The goal is to have a blue-print of what your day looks like so when you have appointments to make, places to go, people to see, things to do, you know where they will fit in.

Use your daily schedule as a checkpoint each day.
