Use Press Releases to Build Clients' Trust

By: Denise Willms

A recent survey revealed that the Internet is among the most popular sources of information - even more popular than television and right up there with the local newspaper.

At the same time, 75% of those who use the Internet don't trust the information they find there.

What does this mean for your biz? First of all, great news! Potential clients are flocking to the 'Net to find you! The not so good news - they're looking for a reason to trust you.

There are some simple things you can do to help gain your website visitors' trust: provide links to reputable sites, use client testimonials, display samples of your work, regularly update your content.

Press releases are also an effective and affordable trust-building tool. They demonstrate that you're a legitimate company, providing a real service.

Recently, I was contacted by someone who had read a press release about my writing business. She had been to my site and seen some of my work, but when she read a press release that connected me with other companies, she finally trusted me enough to contact me.

Your press releases will do the same for you. Write one, or have one written for you, whenever something newsworthy happens in your business. Post it on your website for your clients and potential clients to see, send it out to your contacts, online press release sites, and the media. Then watch your reputation and your business grow.
