Liz Monte's Profile:
When our first son Joe was born 18 years ago, I cut way back on the hours I had been working as an interior decorator, and joined the ranks of the Stay-at-Home Moms. Three years later, our second son Victor was born. A few years after that, I was experiencing some health issues and found major relief from a product put out by a new company. When I found out the company was using network marketing, I was very skeptical. I had been involved in some network marketing companies back in the 80's, got badly burned, and swore I would never have anything to do with the industry again. But... I really liked the product I was using, and I figured I would tell everyone I knew about it anyway. Why not make some extra money with it if I could? That was back in 1995. In the ensuing years, I learned a lot –most of it the hard way. I fear I gained a reputation among family and friends as someone who was always trying to sell something. It was a little embarrassing, to say the least. (Does this ring a bell?) However, I'm happy to report that I've since learned better ways to build a network marketing business – ways that don't involve hitting on my "warm market," chasing people who aren't really interested, or generating uncomfortable feelings of rejection and embarrassment. Through my articles, website, and newsletter, I'm trying to share these new strategies with other MLMers.
