Editorial Guidelines for WAHM Articles
Compliance with the following Editorial Guidelines will ensure your articles’ approval and inclusion in the WAHM Articles directory. These guidelines are necessary to maintain the quality and degree of professionalism we promise our readers, publishers and authors.
***IMPORTANT: WAHM Articles only publishes articles of interest to mothers.***
A. Article Submission
1. WAHM Articles will not compensate authors in any way for the writing or submission of any article.
2. Authors reserve and retain all copyright to their articles.
3. WAHM Articles reserves the right to publish your articles anywhere on our website, blog or syndicate through RSS Feeds. Other WAHM Articles users have the right to publish your articles on their websites, in their newsletters or ezines, and more, so long as the article is left in its original state, including the information in your resource box, giving you credit as the author, and any links within the resource box.
4. All articles submitted by you must be written by you, and you must own the exclusive copyright.
5. Article submission does not mean your article will be accepted and listed in the WAHM Articles directory. WAHM Articles has the sole authority to accept or reject any article.
6. Before submitting your article, please check that your article has not been previously submitted.
7. Spamming of this directory will not be tolerated. Submitting multiple copies of the same article using different titles, or with only slight modifications is forbidden. Offenders will have their articles deleted, account terminated, and be banned from future submissions.
B. Article Content
1. Article content must not promote hate, racism, pornography, hacking, bomb building, terrorism, and other illegal and/or offensive activities.
2. Article content should inform and educate, not serve only as a promotional piece. Include how to’s, tips, strategies, techniques, case studies, analyses, opinions, and/or commentary from your own experience in your articles.
3. Article content should be informational and well thought out. Articles with grammatical or spelling errors will be declined.
4. WAHM Articles no longer allows active links in the article body.
C. Article Format
1. Article title must be in Title Case. In other words, the first letter of each word is capitalized.
2. Author names, website names or URLs are not allowed in the title.
3. HTML tages are not allowed in the title.
4. Do not put a period at the end of the title.
5. Do not repeat the article title in the article body.
6. Articles must be at least 200 words.
7. Do not submit articles that are pre-formatted with hard carriage returns. The article text should flow continuously and wrap naturally. To create a new line, press the “Enter” key once. To create a new paragraph, press the “Enter” key twice to create a vertical white space.
6. The following HTML tag are allowed in the article body:
Bold
Italics
Blockquote (to indent text)
Line Items (to create a bulleted list)
D. Author Name and Pen Names
1. Your full name is required for your account. You can use: first and last name; first name, middle initial, last name; first initial and last name.
2. WAHM Articles allows only one author account per individual, but you may have pen names under your account (such as a pen name if you are an author’s assistant or manage articles for multiple authors.) The rules for the author name (D. 1.) apply to all pen names.
E. Resource Box
1. Please add a resource box to the end of each article you submit. Include the author’s name, some personal information, a link to your website, and a reason why the article’s reader should visit your website.
2. WAHM Articles recommends including a link to your website in the resource box, but not an email link. Spammers will abuse it. We recommend using a website URL and letting potential customers find your email address on your website.
3. Your resource box may have up to two links. You may not include two links to the same website.
4. You may not link directly to affiliates’ products.
F. Disclaimer
1. WAHM Articles reserves the right to make minor changes or additions to the above guidelines at any time without prior notice to our authors. However, where there are substantial changes, members will be notified.
2. The articles in the WAHM Articles directory are provided for information purposes only and for redistribution as outlined in our guidelines.
3. WAHM Articles does not accept any responsibility or liability for the use or misuse of the article content in this directory, by any publisher or the reliance by any person on the content of any articles.
