A friend of mine on Facebook put up a new status a few weeks ago that went like this. “NIKE has the best slogan. JUST DO IT! Seriously, stop making excuses, and they are all excuses, trust me! If we have time to sit on Facebook or any other sedentary thing we definitely have time to MOVE!” The definition of sedentary is this: A Sedentary lifestyle is a medical term used to describe a type of lifestyle with no or irregular physical activity. A person who lives a sedentary lifestyle may be known as a couch potato. Sedentary activities include sitting, reading, watching television and computer use for much of the day with little or no vigorous physical exercise. What is your excuse? I’ve heard a ton of them...from I don’t like to workout in front of people to I just don’t have the time. I’ve even said some of them myself. My biggest excuse was that I didn’t like to have people I didn’t know watching me sweat. So I bought an elliptical machine for my home. Problem solved!! In the past 20 years, the United States has seen a dramatic increase in obesity. This is a very scary fact. Being obese causes many medical problems, such as diabetes and heart disease and will take years off of your life. A lot of these medical problems can be completely preventable by simply eating the right foods and working out. Go for a walk. Get a gym membership. Buy exercise equipment for your home if you prefer, but STOP making excuses!!! Get off the couch and get active! You will feel better and you will have more energy then you ever have! MOTIVATION begins and ends with you! DETERMINATION is how much you want it! Make this the time you choose yourself, put yourself on top of your priority list! (Unknown Author)
