When selling a product or service, your website’s focus needs to be on your product and selling it. Cluttering it up with ads or selling ad space should not be in your plan, as it will detract for your own product. Does this mean you cannot add content to generate a little passive income through Google Adsense or Yahoo Search Marketing? Absolutely not, content is the perfect solution to monetizing your website without selling ads to detract from your product. Content serves more than the purpose of generating a passive income. Content gives you more opportunity to disperse your keywords and thus increase potential search traffic to your site. The money you can generate by adding google adsense or something similar, to your site is an added bonus. What can I write about is a common question? Write your own articles whenever possible on your business topic or a closely related topic. Publish them on your website and then make some subtle changes and submit them to article directories for a great free traffic generator. What about using articles written by others you find at those article directories? You can use them if they are targeted, but try not to use too many as they send traffic away from your website. If they add good valuable information to your site, then by all means, use them. You can monetize the page, add your own comments and resource links, preferably affiliate links to maximize your passive income opportunities. Using content to maximize your website potential earnings is smart. Just because you sell a product or service does not mean you cannot use your website to generate passive income through monetizing content. Adding targeted content to your product or service based website is the perfect solution to finding a simple way to create some income.
