5 steps to creating a Sales Copy Hit

By: Dominique Goh

Having a good sales copy is essential in promoting your product or service.

A GOOD sales letter is a letter that is convincing and would lead to the customer putting down his dollar and investing in what you are offering.

The better the match your product /service is offering to what the customer needs, the higher the probability that he will buy into your solution.

More then often in the world of internet marketing one gets bombarded with sales copies promoting one product or another. How then to make your product unique and different from the masses.

There are some step which you must complete before you can write an effective sales copy.

Step 1- Understanding your product

It is very important to know what you are selling. You need to know the ins and outs of the product before attempting to market it. If you are skeptical about a product it will be very difficult to convince others to purchase it as you yourself are not convinced of it’s value.

You also need to know what is your goal or the end results of the sales letter. What do you aim to achieve?

Step 2- Looking at the product from the consumers point of view.

What can the product do for them? What BENEFITS are there for them? The unique advantages of your product should be highlighted and very prominent in your sales copy.

Many people like me scan sales pages for interesting and relevant information. You need to be able to grab their attention with eye catching benefits.

Step 3 – Have features and benefits clearly defined.

Features related to the attributes of your products while the benefit is what you promise the buyer upon delivery of the product. If your product is an e-book about ” How to travel stress free” the reader expect to have a stress free holiday after implementing the techniques and following the tips that you have suggested.

Only when he has personally experience a stress free holiday will he deem your book to be an effective read.

Do state realistically what your product is able to achieve. NEVER exaggerate or falsify claims. This will be disastrous to your business and reputation if you are called out as a fraud.

Step 4- Be a REAL Person

For your customers to trust you they need to know that they are communicating with a REAL person and not a bot. Showing your face in a photo, appearing in a video or adding a podcast to your portfolio adds credibility to your presence as a marketer.

Frequently most people use free trials, money back guarantee and testimonals to add credibility to their product. Many individuals seek reassurance that there is a chance of getting their money back or taking a trial to see if the product is what they are looking for.

It is important that customers know that you are easily contactable if they have questions about your product. Add in your privacy policy and terms & conditions so it is transparent what the customer can expect from you.

Step 5- Create an action statement
Buy It Today!! or Download a sample chapter.

Creating a call for action and attention grabbing statements will compel your customer to click on the mouse which may lead to the sale that you are aiming for. Through these persuasive text you are making your customer more eager to purchase your product to get what you promise to deliver.
