Do Not Leave Home Without Your Business Cards

By: Janice Jenkins

It is one of the most important advice ever given when marketing your business – do not ever go out without your print business cards.

No matter where you are, who you are with, and no matter when or what time, every person you meet is an opportunity for you to promote your business. And when it comes to handing out a vital representation of your business, your print business cards are the epitome of your company and everything you stand for.

Your business card print is one of the most crucial marketing tools because it is a direct representation of who you are. It is the very first thing that you provide your target clients, which can either send out a positive or negative impression. Your design and message in your business card printing are among the most important strategies to introduce you to an uninformed and unaware target market.

So what happens when you do not have your business cards with you? You lose an important opportunity to be known and remembered.

With its 2”x3” size, your business card printing strategy can send a very strong impact that your target clients will remember for many years. A good many can result to a positive impression; still there are those that can reflect inefficiency and incompetence. A badly designed business card can be a fatal blow to your business.

In addition to leaving home without it, here are some more “no-no’s” to avoid if you want to stay in business for a very long time:

NO flashy and too loud design please!
Less the flash and more of substance – that is how your print business cards should be designed. Simplicity is the key to having an effective business card printing that is readable and legible. Do not make it hard for your target clients to read what is in your print cards. The easier it is to get your information, the faster for them to get in touch with you right away.

NO rudeness please; just good old manners.
It is good manners to ask for the business card of the person you are talking to. It is also good conduct to ask if it is alright to hand out your business card as well. It is a total turn off to assume that everybody wants to have your color business cards. So the thing to do especially during business meetings is to always ask first.

NO offense; common courtesy please.
Print business cards are your means to build a relationship that lasts with your target clients. More than representing your company, your custom business cards provide you with the opportunity to communicate and exchange ideas. When done right, your print cards allow you to have a strong connection so you can give them the kind of service they need.

The manner you hand them out is as important as what is in your business cards. The exchange of information then is crucial to getting you accepted by your recipients. If you use them wisely, you will get more than your fair share of clients that will rely on you for their needs.
