Is Guest Blogging Right for Your Business?

By: Corrie Petersen

While guest blogging is a great way to increase the traffic to your site and grow your business, you may be wondering when enough is enough? That’s a good question and it’s one that is asked often. While there is no right or wrong answer, you need to know the answer is one you must answer yourself.

There is only so much you can do when it comes to advertising your business. It doesn’t matter if you’re limited on funds or knowledge it can still be a struggle to reach everyone you desire to reach. No matter how hard you try it’s nearly impossible to make it happen.

That’s why guest blogging is important for you to do. It gives you the ability to reach out to those that you may not otherwise be able to reach. You’ll do the writing and in exchange you’ll be given credit for the writing. You’ll have a bio attached to the end of the post or a link to a page with your information.

Now with that you may think you need to find as many guest blogging opportunities as you can, but that’s not the right thing to do. If you do that you’ll become stressed and you’ll end up spending more time writing and less time working and growing your business, which is not a good thing.

You need to find a happy medium and the right balance so you have the ability to grow and not feel stress during your day. Most guest blogging opportunities require original content so it’s a good idea to do no more than one guest blog post a week.

One thing to remember is if you do four or five a month and you find it’s just too much, it’s ok to stop the posts. Contact the blog owner and let them know you must stop. You’ll want to look at the traffic and market of each blog and then choose to eliminate the one that doesn’t have a high traffic level or fits your market the least.

Guest blogging is a great way to place your business in front of people you may not otherwise reach, but it’s not good when you do so many that your business is going by the way side. Don’t let that happen, instead find a number that you can handle comfortably. When you do this, you’ll have success with guest blogging.
