Now that you've written your article, where are you going to publish it? There are probably thousands of online article directories and publishers to choose from. When you're deciding on the best places to submit your article, here are some things to consider: 1. Who will want to read your new article? Look for some niche sites where the users will be interested in the specific information you offer. For example, if you write articles on dog grooming, look for websites where dog owners will congregate. 2. Are there any markets you haven't considered? A common trend now is to submit an article only to niche sites. The trouble with that is you're closing the door to exploring other markets for your product or service. Submit it to some well-know general directories as well for broader exposure. 3. Cast a wide a net as possible. Now that you've put all that work into writing your article, or have paid someone to write it, it's time to get your money's worth. For every place your article is published, that's another backlink (or two) to your site. Submit it to as many places as is feasible for you. 4. Find out where people are reading your articles. After you've submitted an article to a directory, check back and see if it was published and how many views it has received. The stats on some directories will also tell you how many times someone has clicked through and how many times your profile has been viewed. These stats will tell you which directories are a good fit for your article, and which aren't producing results. 5. Follow up and see who is publishing your article. After you've submitted your article, set up Google Alerts for your article title and see who is reprinting it from the article directories. Article publishers are supposed to include the article source when they reprint an article from a directory. When they do, you'll be able to tell which directories they're using to find your articles. Submitting articles and tracking the results does take time, so if you don't have the time to invest, you may want to consider asking a Virtual Assistant who is experienced in article marketing to manage those tasks for you. Whether you do it on your own or with the help of a Virtual Assistant, the best places to submit your article online can be different for everyone. The key to finding which websites bring the best results for you is to do your research and then follow up.
