When it comes to having a successful Direct Sales business...it is all about the fantastic service that you provide to your existing customers, that will keep them coming back for additional purchases. There are many ways you can connect with your existing customers without being pushy. Here are a few ideas that I utilize in my own Direct Sales business, that I have found to be beneficial for obtaining repeat orders from my own customers. 1. Catalog Mailings - Send out catalogs or mini flyers every time your company changes or updates their product line. To entice a purchase from your customer, you can include a discount coupon with the catalog. I like to date mine with an expiration date of 30 days. 2. Birthday Club - If you don't have a birthday club, consider starting one. You can postal mail or email birthday greetings to your established customers. You can offer a small free gift with their next purchase or a discount coupon. 3. Online Newsletter - I highly recommend starting an online monthly newsletter for all of your customers and party hosts. There are numerous websites online that offer newsletters. You can have customers sign up for your newsletter or with their permission, manually add them yourself. I do not recommend publishing a newsletter more than once a month. 4. Post Purchase Follow-Up Calls - After a customer makes a purchase from me, I like to follow up with a brief phone call 2-3 weeks later. I don't try to talk them into buying more products from me during this call. I just thank them for their purchase, make sure you they are enjoying it and that it was received by the customer. Keep the call short, simple and sweet. 5. Bi-Yearly Open Houses - I like to hold an open house weekend at my home every spring and fall season. I invite all of my party hosts, local customers and anyone else who I think would enjoy my open house. I have new items on display, do a few demonstrations, hold door prize drawings and serve refreshments. All customers who attend my open house, go home with a goodie bag filled with samples, coupons, new catalogs and other give-away promotional items. You will find that some consultants call these types of events...Customer Appreciation Weekends. As a Direct Sales business owner, I realize the importance of keeping in contact with my customers, which keeps them coming back to me for their purchases. We are often distracted into thinking that we need to be constantly adding new customers to our database, however, if you neglect your existing customers, they will go elsewhere to make their purchases.
