Several years ago, I concentrated on improving my product sales at my home parties. One of the things I experimented with was including the 5 senses into each of my product demonstrations. The 5 senses include hearing, sight, smell, taste and touch. To use each one of these senses in our product demonstrations, we must first remind ourselves of what they mean and how we can use them to our benefit. Hearing is the sense of sound perception. How can you use that to your advantage? Simple...by listening to what your customers are saying about their personal lives. If they have a problem, let them hear a solution. Sight is the sense of vision, things that we can see with the naked eye. You will want to show customers the products you are selling. Let your customers see how your products can fit into their busy lives whether it be for personal use or as a gift for someone else. Smell is the sense of fragrance. If you sell products that have a scent such as candles, perfumes, skin care products or foods, let the customer enjoy some of your wonderful scents during your product demonstration. Taste is the sense of something good hitting the receptors within your mouth or lips. If you sell food products, you always want to serve samples at your home parties for the guests to taste. If you don't sell products that guests can taste, have your party host serve some delectable appetizers that are tantalizing to the sense of taste. Touch is the sense of feeling. You should be allowing your party guests to the touch products. You can do this by passing products around the room or inviting them to come up to your display. It is important to let them know that its okay to pick up your products and inspect them. By allowing your customers to get up close and personal with your products and engaging all of their senses, you are pulling them in to your product demonstration and offering them solutions to their problems. This in turn...will increase your product sales.
